Tapioca Turmoil: 8 CRAZY Things Every Boba Lover NEEDS To Try

Spill The Tea

Updated: May 27, 2019

If you’re reading this right now, chances are you know what bubble tea is: a delicious Taiwanese drink, one you’ve come to love and adore. Everyone loves boba, and chefs are beginning to realize it, too. New bubble tea creations are appearing in the market everyday. Here’s our handpicked list of 8 things any boba lover HAS to try (for the culture🤪)!

1. Cotton Candy Bubble Tea

One of our absolute favorites! Bubble tea shops EVERYWHERE have started to introduce drinks topped with cotton candy, calling it everything from ‘Cloud Tea’ to ‘Sip and Chew’!

2. Boozy Boba

Never let it be sad that bubble tea can’t be served as a cocktail! Mixed with everything from vodka to tequila, this is the answer to your prayers.

Get yourself some spiked bubble tea. Your taste buds will thank us.

3. Popping Boba

Popping boba, bursting boba, juice balls; call it whatever, but the fact is - it’s sweet, unique, and EXTREMELY popular. The outside is made of a seaweed extract, so it’s not chewy like regular tapioca. Instead, it’s bite-and-burst, which a bunch of flavors, like mango, orange, lychee, strawberry, and green mango!

4. Boba Swiss Rolls

Swiss rolls, aka soft chiffon cakes, topped AND filled with syrup-y tapioca pearls. Not entirely sure how we feel about it. You’ll be the judge of this one.

5. Tapioca Tarts

Find this chic dessert at only a few specialist bakeries. This definitely looks like something we’d willingly eat. Sign us up!

6. Tapioca Toast

Me: Restaurants are merely riding on the bubble tea trend, and this creation is just another ‘bubble tea bonzana.’ Too sweet and too messy. Why spoil things that are godly on their own?

Also me: So, toast filled with boba? I’ll be there.

7. Boba Cake

This one is beautiful. Why are you still reading this? GO GET THIS CAKE.

8. Crazy Calories - Tapioca-filled Pizza

We love bubble tea, and we love pizza, but can we fall in love with the two together? Thanks, but no thanks.

Still going for the gram tho.
